The photography world’s most sought-after contemporaries will gather in Sharjah once again as the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) will host 4th edition of the highly anticipated Xposure International Photography Festival from Sept.19-22.
Following the resounding success of Xposure’s third edition, the organisers are introducing a new dimension to the event to boost interest and appeal. The festival will showcase four major themes to enrich visitor experiences through unique sensory journeys – Xpose Adventure, Xpose Emotions, Xpose Art and Xpose Life.
The theme, Xpose Adventure, will bring to focus photographers’ journeys undertaken in search of new topics to base their works on; their hunt for unique subjects and adventures never captured by a camera lens before, offering visitors an opportunity to delve into new artistic territory through these works.
Second theme, titled Xpose Emotions, will be dedicated to showcasing photography’s ability to express human emotions in the most fascinating ways. The exhibit will be a mosaic of emotions and personal stories, offering viewers a chance to zoom in to the finer details of human expression.
Xpose Art will be represented by a curation of a diversity of arts, sculpture and amazing architectural designs captured on camera in the most avant-garde ways by top photographers from around the world. The beauty of the subject against the artist’s perspective will be something to watch out for here.
Fourth theme, Xpose Life, will cover a wide spectrum of humanitarian issues, the challenges associated with conflicts and wars, and from astonishing events to the seemingly mundane moments. Xposure visitors can expect to gain rare insights into how and why the vivid spectrum of existence has remained a photographer’s muse since time immemorial.
Xposure’s hugely popular outdoor exhibitions will open across major locations in both Sharjah and Dubai starting on Sept.10.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Council (SMC), said that the upcoming edition of Xposure will continue on its path, shining the spotlight on established and emerging talents. He affirmed that the four-day festival will be one of most memorable celebrations on UAE’s cultural calendar this year.
