The Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai has concluded its summer programme “Together We Read and Write.” The programme included sessions on Arabic calligraphy by calligrapher Mohammed Al Nouri, and reading and creative writing sessions, by Dr Ali Abdul Kader Al Hammadi, Director of the Arabic Language Protection Association, and Dr Eisa Al Hammadi, Director of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS).
The reading session was also graced by Bilal Al Budoor who shed light on the types, timings and methods of reading. The session, which took place from July 21 to 30th, was participated by 15 students, who were honoured with certificates at the end of the event.
In a related event, the Cultural Summer Camp programme, organised and programmed by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development across cultural centres in Al Dhafra Region, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Dibba Al Fujairah and Masafi has been received with great enthusiasm by the youth in all emirates.
The workshop witnessed high levels of participation from children and youth in every emirate. The camp’s workshops are held daily excluding Fridays and features three categories namely, Arts and Culture, Innovation and Self Development, covering a range of topics, such as expressive visual arts, design, architecture, entrepreneurship, science and technology, media, meditation and life skills.
In Ajman, workshops like Building Bridges and Culinary Arts workshop received very high interest.
Children got the chance to participate in diverse activities where technical skills and hands-on engineering discussions took place.
In Fujairah, attendees of the Culinary Art workshop, were provided with a truly unique culinary experience; interacting with the chefs and learning the different techniques needed for baking.
