Students of the Emirates Science Club, an affiliate of the Cultural & Scientific Association, are preparing to take part in the China Adolescent Robotics Competition (CARC) that will take place from the 12th until 16th of August in China.
The World Robotics Championship is known to be a ground-breaking fair which gathers young inventors from all over the world to showcase their unique talents and skills in robotics designing, by joining together all innovative, future engineers and technology experts in a collaborative competition.
However, the aim is to ignite the competitors’ passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and inspire them to acquire the necessary skills to face challenges of the future.
In 2015, the China Association for Science and Technology launched the first edition of the World Robotics Championship, which became the biggest robotics competition for young students, gathering together around 400 students and trainers from over 20 different countries.
Moreover, Emirates Science Club participates in the robotics competition by sending off young inventors and dividing them into 63 teams of different age groups, starting from 9-year-olds.
The team that was sent includes three students; Mehra Maher Ahmed, Alyazeeh Mohammed Al-Mansouri, and Sultan Abdul Rahman Al-Zarouni, along with their trainer Amira Mahdi Rahma, and headed by Eng. Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Board Member of the Emirates Science Club.
Additionally, students have attained outstanding skills from such an experience in dealing with advanced programming, innovative designing methods, and ways to deal with problems by developing different solutions.
The Emirates Science Club is keen on encouraging its students to take part in international forums in an attempt to develop means of communication with the youth of UAE, besides improving their skills to learn more about science and technology of today’s world.
Recently, Dubai Future Academy welcomed 50 participants between the age of 12 and 16 in the second edition of its annual Robotics and 3D Printing Summer Camp.
With the aim of training participants on designing and building robots and prototypes using 3D printing technology, the summer camp held at the Office of the Future included a number of sessions and workshops that engaged and inspired participants.
