Ministry of Community Development (MOCD) organised the “Eddad” educational and awareness programme presented by family counsellors benefiting 2,538 young Emiratis—both males and females—about to get married, with training courses during mornings, evenings and weekends all over the emirates.
Wahida Khalil, Director of Marriage Grants Department at the Ministry of Community Development, revealed that the ministry’s initiative aimed at improving the material presented within “Eddad” by the counsellors to maximise its benefits.
She also noted that the goals of “Eddad” programme are clear and specific, as they include raising awareness about the importance of marriage and developing the behaviour of those who are about to get married in order to help them overcome future challenges and obstacles. The programme focuses on Emirati females and males who are about to get married and also applicants to the marriage grant.
She said that the main task of the programme is to prepare the next generations to form a united and cohesive Emirati family and create a conscious community that is aware of the efforts of the UAE wise leadership towards a sustainable development vision. Such families’ awareness programmes maintain the stability of the society at large and enhance the trust of younger generations in marriage. Such sustainable awareness programmes focus on developing couples’ skills and motivating them to achieve positivity, understanding and harmony in line with the Ministry’s vision to establish the trust of stable and cohesive families.
In another event, employees of Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, recently visited the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), a non-profit organisation working to serve people with disabilities (people of determination) and promote their integration into mainstream society.
Representatives of the bank presented gifts to children at SCHS and spent the day interacting with them during art workshops and other activities. Emirates Islamic staff also raised awareness among the children about the importance of healthy eating and nutrition.
Emirates Islamic is an active contributor to community health and development initiatives, with the bank’s staff regularly volunteering for a range of community support activities across the UAE.
