This Eid Al Adha turned out to be double extravaganza for Emirati parents Mouza Saeed Baani Shemaili (mother) and Abdulla Mohammed Saeed Alhumaidi Alkhanbouli (father) who welcomed their sixth child, a baby boy weighing 3.130kg born at 8.59 am on Sunday morning at RAK Hospital.
Another Emirati couple Aesha Hasan Ahmed Ahmed Alshehhi (mother) and Sulaiman Saeed Mohammed (father) welcomed their tiny bundle of joy, a baby-girl at 7.15am the same morning. The little baby girl Shadha weighed around 3.445kg and is the third child of the couple.
Congratulating the parents, Dr Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director at RAK Hospital, said: “On this joyous occasion, I wish all the health and happiness to the babies and the parents. The birth of a child is always a reason to celebrate but when it doubles with the auspicious occasion of Eid al Adha, the happiness certainly know no bounds. I, along with the entire team at RAK Hospital, pray that the babies continue to bring joy and remain a blessing for their families forever”.
In Aster hospital Al Qusais, a baby boy was born to parents Nasima Begum and Abdul Hoque at 1.46am on Sunday. The baby weighed 3.240kg and had a height of 50cm.
Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi’s premier healthcare facility, marked the advent of Eid Al Adha with the birth of a baby in the early hours of Sunday. The parents welcomed their newborn baby on the joyous occasion of Eid Al Adha on Sunday. They were overjoyed at their baby being the first one born on this day in the UAE.
Said Mohammad Dawagreh and Mrs Boshra Ahmed Al Younis, “People all over the UAE are celebrating this auspicious day, but for us the happiness is double as we welcome our new baby Joury Mohammad Dawagreh. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Burjeel Hospital for taking such good care of our family, and for making sure everyone is healthy and fine. This day will always be memorable for us.”
Dr Aruna Kumari, Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Burjeel Hospital, expressed her happiness on the birth. “Our team at Burjeel Hospital treats patients like family, and we celebrate the birth of a new life with just as much happiness and pride. Babies born on such a significant day bring added joy to our hearts, and give more reason for the family to celebrate. We are glad we are able to be a part of this experience.”
Meanwhile, Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi welcomed six newborns on Arafa Day – two girls and four boys – and welcomed two newborns during the first few hours of Eid Al Adha.
The first baby at Danat Al Emarat Hospital was born at 4.29 am, a few minutes before Fajer prayers of first day of Eid Al Adha for the family of Kamal Abdul Hamid Sayyah, a Syrian. The father, 35, said, “My wife’s due date was on 10 August, but with Allah’s will she delivered today 11 August and here we are now celebrating the birth of our fifth child, at 4.29 am of the first day of Eid Al Adha. We have not yet decided on her name. She weighed 3.3kg. Our baby and my wife are in good health thanks to Allah. Her two sisters and two brothers have been waiting for her, and our celebration today is doubled with her birth and Eid. Thanks to Danat Al Emarat team for the care they have been providing my wife and both children; wishing everyone Eid Mubarak.”
The second baby on Eid day at Danat Al Emarat Hospital was born at 4.44 am for the family of Omar Yarat and Mrs Khulood Al Badri. The father said, “We have named him Yousef. He weighs 3.1kg and is in good health thanks to Allah. Having him born today has doubled our joy as we all celebrate the first day of Eid Al Adha.
“The baby and his mother are in good health. We were expecting him in 7 days, but with Allah’s will he has joined our Eid celebrations today before Eid prayers. From here, we would like to thank Danat Al Emarat for their advanced and constant care they provide our family.”
Mariano Gonzalez, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical) said, “Including our Eid babies born at the hospital during the early hours of Eid, a total of 14,040 babies have been born at our hospital since our first baby was born on 28 October 2015, of which over 7,300 were Emiratis. Amongst the total number of births, we had 7,316 boys and 6,724 girls. All these precious bundles of joy were managed by our team of over 200 obstetricians, paediatricians, neonatologists, midwives and nurses. We expect to welcome another 5 babies by the end of today.”
The hospital distributed flowers and gifts among all patients and children who are spending Eid Al Adha at the hospital.
