The Ministry of Health and Community Protection revealed that 8,371 persons benefited from mobile health care service last year. Dr Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centres and Clinics Sector said the number of beneficiaries of the initiative is increasing, and the ministry continues to train physiotherapists, psychotherapists, nursing department, doctors working in home care and mobile clinics through various workshops and conferences. He added, “In addition, the dental clinic was operated at the outpatient mobile health clinics in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah last year, and comprehensive oral and dental health checkups and preventive fillings were performed on school students.”
Al Rand stressed that mobile health care aims to ensure that curative and preventive services reach homes in remote areas.
He said, “The programme provides laboratory tests, a nutrition clinic, osteoporosis examination, a cervical smear test, a chronic disease clinic, diabetes, a smoking cessation clinic, medical consultations, ENT clinics, preventive fillings for school students, a preventive oral health programme and a comprehensive dental examination.
“The mobile specialised health care targets all age groups, including school students and senior citizens,” he explained.
Last month it was reported that more than 73,000 patients received screening and treatment through Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, Seha, mobile health clinic offerings since 2018 and up to May 2019.
Serving the community since 2010, these mobile clinics reflect Seha’s legacy in providing advanced, accessible healthcare for the community, in line with the objectives of Abu Dhabi Government.
Mohammed Hawas Al Sadid, Ambulatory Healthcare Services CEO, said, “Seha is the cornerstone of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi and is the only provider with a genuine network that can create value across the system for patients. This network includes three mobile clinics fully equipped to provide curative and preventive services for major events and remote areas.”
