Dubai Misdemeanour Court charged an Arab visitor, 45, of condoning sin after complaining that he had been robbed while doing so.
The victim testified during the interrogations that during his visit to the UAE he communicated via social media with a girl who claimed to be a European living in Dubai.
He told her, he was a car trader. Their friendship developed and they exchanged mobile numbers.
The girl told the Arab she wanted to meet him.
On the day of the incident, the Arab, who stayed in Sharjah, went to Dubai to receive a money transfer of Dhs155,000 and was on his way back to Sharjah when he received a phone call from his girlfriend inviting him to meet her.
She gave him the address and when he got there, the door was opened but he did not see anybody.
He entered the apartment to be surprised by 5 African women who closed the door of the apartment, grabbed him and dropped him to the ground. They began to beat him and demanded him to give them the money he had.
He gave them Dhs1,600 but they were not satisfied and searched him to find Dhs55,000. They were happy and stopped searching him before asking him to leave. The victim, who was happy because they did not find the remaining Dhs100,000, went to the building guard and told him the story, before he called the police.
