Sultan’s order on debtor husband helps Emirati woman

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, responded to a complaint sent by an Emirati woman to the Direct Line programme in which she talked about her deteriorating financial situation as a result of debts and arrest of her husband.

Before the end of the programme, Sheikh Sultan called Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and instructed him to interfere and solve the problem. The woman’s husband returned home within 53 minutes of Sheikh Sultan’s instruction.

This was announced by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, in a telephone conversation with Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of Sharjah Media Council, via the Direct Line programme broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV.

“I received a phone call from HH Sheikh Sultan at 3.07pm on Tuesday in which he told me about the problem of Umm Saif (mother of Saif) and instructed me to intervene to solve it. The woman’s husband, who was at home at 4pm on the same day, came to my office on Wednesday and while he was there, I received another call from Sheikh Sultan enquiring about what happened. When Sheikh Sultan knew that Abu Saif was in my office, he demanded to talk to him and he gave him valuable tips that only a father who was keen on the stability of his children could give,” Al Shamsi said.

“Sheikh Sultan ordered us to communicate with the Central Finance Department about Abu Saif’s debts and today the creditor would come and be given his dues and the problems would come to an end,” he added.

“Based on Sheikh Sultan’s directives, we will follow up Abu Saif’s case to ensure the stability of his family. We wish that Umm Saif and her husband start over and take care of their family which consists of 7 children,” he said.

In another development reported by WAM, Sheikh Sultan issued an Emiri decree No. 24 of 2019 regarding the general organisational structure of the Sharjah Sports Council, SSC.

According to the decree, the Council’s general organisational structure shall be approved by the Sharjah Executive Council through resolutions that call for the detailed organisational structure and work processes to implement the decree, including the provision of detailed job descriptions across the SSC’s organisational departments. The decree also calls the SSC’s departments to take necessary measures – merging, forming, or abolishing organisational departments – to meet with the newly formed general organisational structure.

The decree shall be published in the Official Gazette, and is effective from its date of issuance.

Recently Sheikh Sultan issued an Emiri Decree to establish a new charity foundation named Patients Friends House in the Emirate of Sharjah, PFH.

Under the decree No. (18) of 2019, PFH is established as a non-governmental, non-profit, fully independent foundation. The decree also stipulates that the headquarters of the foundation is to be in the city of Sharjah with the possibility of having other branches inside and outside the Emirate by a resolution of its board of directors.

In order to achieve its goals, the decree stipulates that the foundation be specialised in raising public awareness towards the importance of community involvement in financial and moral support to patients in general and specifically those with chronic and terminal diseases.

The foundation will also be specialised in providing and maintaining prosthetic and aiding equipment to the patients and helping them familiarise with these equipment in coordination with relevant local, regional and international entities.

The foundation will also be specialised in holding recreational and educational events for the patients and supporting entities that provide services to these patients.

It will also be specialised in promoting and supporting fundraising and charity initiatives of individuals and entities that aim to support these patients in collaboration with relevant entities, in addition to any other specialities as deemed fit by the Ruler of Sharjah or the Executive Council of the Emirate.
