His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has instructed that a distinctive integrated private school be set up in Weshah in the central region of the emirate and called Sharjah Model School, provided the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works begins work on the project with immediate effect.
Sheikh Sultan also instructed that a club for male teachers and another for female teachers be set up on Nazwa Road near Al Seyouh. Each club will include sports facilities, a library and a hall for lectures, seminars and training. In addition, Sheikh Sultan instructed that two nurseries be set up, one in Al Seyouh and the other in Al Rahmaniya.
This was announced by Dr Saeed Musbah Al Kaabi, Chairman of Sharjah Education Council, in a meeting with Mohammed Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Radio and TV Authority, via the Direct Line programme, which is broadcast live on Sharjah Radio and TV.
“I received a phone call from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in which he followed up all details related to the education process and instructed that a number of educational projects be carried out for the benefit of the emirate’s citizens and residents,” he said.
Earlier, Sheikh Sultan responded to a complaint sent by an Emirati woman to the Direct Line programme in which she talked about her deteriorating financial situation as a result of debts and arrest of her husband.
Before the end of the programme, Sheikh Sultan called Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and instructed him to interfere and solve the problem. The woman’s husband returned home within 53 minutes of Sheikh Sultan’s instruction.
