The Public Prosecution in Dubai on Sunday referred a European (fugitive) to the Criminal Court over the charge of threatening his boss, a compatriot woman. The defendant reportedly sent messages to the plaintiff blackmailing to chase and defame her by sending someone to disclose her private life to her family. The defendant was also accused of insulting his boss, in addition to stealing two mobile phones that belonged to her after he used her car without her permission.
According to the plaintiff, the details of the case date back to the time when she intended to travel to France and handed her car to her friend to keep it in his possession until she returned. But she was surprised that the defendant sent messages from several numbers through WhatsApp, in which he told her that he took her car from her boyfriend and seized her mobile phones that contained private photos of her.
He also sent her some of those photos to make her believe he was serious. He abused her and threatened that he would send those pictures of her with her boyfriend to her family and friends if the boyfriend failed to pay him the money he borrowed from him or she paid Dhs4,000, the Court heard.
In another development, a female teacher sustained multiple injuries after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Al Sarooj, Al Ain, at the end of the first school day. A police patrol and an ambulance rushed to the scene of the accident and transferred the teacher to Al Ain Hospital for medical treatment.
According to the teacher’s relative, the accident took place after the teacher had got down from the bus that she used to reach her vehicle in the parking lot on the other side of the street.
While crossing the street from the zebra crossing after the vehicles on the first and second lanes had stopped, the teacher was surprised by a vehicle coming on the third lane and hitting her.
