The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) on Sunday announced a revised unified list of the national holidays for both the public and private sectors in the UAE for 2019.
In the previous list issued by the FAHR, the Martyr Day was set to be observed on Dec.1, while in the latest revised one, it will be on Saturday, Nov.30 for both private and public sectors.
The new list also included a holiday for the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PUBH) (Al Mawlid Al Nabawi), while the previous one did not include it.
According to the latest list, the national holidays will be as flowing: New Year-January 1, Eid Al Fitr-from 29 Ramadan to 03 Shawwal, Waqfat Arafa Day- 09 Dul Hijjah, Eid Al Adha-10, 11, and12 Dul Hajjah, Islamic New Year, 01 Muharram, the Porphet’s Birthday (Al Mawlid Al Nabawi)-12 Rabie Al Awwal, Martyr Day-30 November and the National Day-02-03 December.
The move comes in accordance with the provisions of the Cabinet Resolution No. (37) of 2019 amending certain provisions of the Cabinet Resolution No. (27) of 2019 on public holidays in the UAE.
The FAHR in the statement issued on Sunday, requested all ministries and federal entities to strictly observe the public holidays shown above, assuring its commitment to provide any support to them in all matters relating to the implementation of the Cabinet Resolution.
