Lt. Colonel Ali Jaber Al Shamsi, Director of Ajman Police Stations, honoured individuals of the public for their cooperation in strengthening the safety and security of the Emirate, following the strategic objective of the Ministry of Interior of keeping and enhancing the security in the UAE community.
Lt. Col. Al Shamsi handed an appreciation certificate to Said Habbaz, from Morocco, for rescuing three people from drowning off a beach in Ajman.
Furthermore, Mohammed Hussain Al Shayeb, from Egypt, was also honoured for his sense of security that prevented an attack on an individual from taking place.
Lt. Col. Al Shamsi praised the responsibility and sense of security of the rescuers, and thanked them for their cooperation with Ajman Police to strengthen safety and security of the community. He pointed out the keenness of Ajman Police to honour those who cooperate, providing motivation for more efforts to be made for the sake of a better community.
For their part, the rescuers expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation of Ajman Police, stressing that their actions were only a national and moral duty towards police members who make considerable efforts in providing safety and security for all members of the community.
Earlier, Lt. Col. Saif Khalifa Al Muhairi, Director of the Ajman Police Anti-Narcotics Department, revealed that the cyber patrols shut down 16 different sites promoting drugs during the past year and half.
This successful mission was carried out in collaboration with the Federal Drug Control Directorate and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in an attempt to achieve the UAE’s vision to ensure the safety and security, and end the drug trafficking phenomena.
Lt. Col. Al Muhairi, pointed out that drug traffickers on such websites tend to use fake names to manipulate people and draw attention away from themselves.
