The National Election Commission (NEC) has affirmed the completion of preparations in 39 centres around the UAE, to receive voters, as of 8am to 8pm on Saturday to vote on the main election day of the 2019 Federal National Council elections.
According to the Commission, the election process will continue for 12 hours, and the preliminary list of winners will be announced after 8pm.
The Commission also affirmed the appeals stage will start on Sunday and will last for two days. These will be responded to on 9 and 10 October. The final list will be approved on 13 October in the absence of by-elections.
The Commission called on all candidates and their agents to abide by the executive instructions and the procedures governing them, and to refrain from all the electoral propaganda on Saturday, in or outside the electoral centres, indicating that specialised committees have been formed to monitor these procedures.
“The removal of all aspects of propaganda campaigns should be within a week of the announcement of the final results, and this or any damages will be at the expense of the candidate.”, indicated the commission.
