Dubai’s annual Gitex Technology Week, has begun today and runs until October 10. The exhibition is widely regarded as the biggest tech show in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. The event covers some of the mega trends shaping the 2019 edition.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai visited the Gitex. He toured several stands and was briefed about the latest technology at display.
Emirates showcased its flight check-in at Dubai International Airport using biometric indicators ‘face image’ in cooperation with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai.
A Future Cafe was also showcased. It showed a robotic arm handling all kitchen work.
Sheikh Hamdan visited du’s stand on the first day of Gitex 2019 accompanied by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA) and the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Sheikh Hamdan was received by Mohamed Al Hussaini, Chairman, EITC and Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer, EITC, and other representatives of the company’s senior management, who briefed the Dubai Crown on how du is empowering the UAE with future technologies.
Under the theme of “Humanizing Technology”, visitors will encounter disruptive technologies of tomorrow offering a “reflection of our future” during one of the largest innovation showcases in the world.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced that it is showcasing a wide range of smart services, apps and solutions for businesses at Gitex Technology Week 2019.
The easy-to-use solutions will be on display at Dubai Chamber’s stand at Gitex 2019 throughout the weeklong event. Smart services currently offered by the Chamber include certificates of origin; attestation; membership; research, reports and studies; legal information; ATA Carnet; credit rating reports; mediation; Dubai Chamber CSR Label; business councils & groups; global and regional associations, in addition to other valuable resources which can be accessed through digital channels.
