The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal on Tuesday heard a case in which an Arab was charged with insulting two policemen, abusing narcotics and psychotropic substances (hashish, crystal methamphetamine and clonazepam), possessing crystal methamphetamine and violating the rules and procedures for the periodic examination of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances users issued by the Minister of Interior.
During the court session, the defendant confessed to all the charges levelled against him except the charges of insulting two policemen and violating the rules and procedures for the periodic examination of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances users, pleading that he was not aware about the timing of the examination.
The lawyer assigned to defend the defendant requested the hearing to be adjourned to present her defence. The court decided to adjourn the hearing till Sunday, October 20.
