UAE, Sudan leaders discuss ways to cement bilateral ties

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Tuesday General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, and Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.

During the meeting, held at the Sea Palace in Abu Dhabi, the parties discussed means to advance bilateral ties between the two countries, particularly those related to the trade and investment sectors. They also exchanged views on Sudan’s political arena, along with regional and international developments.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed affirmed that the UAE will continue to stand by Sudan during this important phase in the nation’s history, and that it will support the Sudanese government and people on its development journey to attain growth, security and stability.

His Highness noted that UAE-Sudan relations are historic and are based on strong ties of brotherhood, trust and mutual respect.

He went on to wish Al Burhan and Hamdok success in their national tasks and responsibilities entrusted to them during the coming period.

Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ali Bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Jassim Mohammed Buatabh Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, and Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Jneibi, UAE Ambassador to Sudan, attended the meeting.

The Sudanese delegation attending the meeting included Asma Abdalla, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ibrahim Elbadawi, Finance Minister; Madani Abbas Madani, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Mohammed Ameen Al Karb, Ambassador of Sudan to the UAE.

Sheikh Mohamed received on Monday representatives from the UAE’s top five best performing government service centres.

During the reception, held at the Sea Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness congratulated the representatives noting their dedication and commitment to the workplace.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince called on them to continue their efforts to provide distinguished services and utilise teamwork to achieve innovative solutions to further improve workplace practices.

The delegates expressed their delight in meeting with Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed. They also relayed their pride in being recognised for their workplace efforts.

In September this year, the best and worst performing government service centres were announced following a comprehensive evaluation of 600 centres within 29 government bodies across the Emirates.

The top five government services centres were the Fujairah Centre of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship; the Ajman Centre of the Ministry of Education; the Ajman Traffic and Licensing Centre of the UAE Ministry of Interior; Sharjah’s Wasit Police Station of the UAE Ministry of Interior, and the Ras Al Khaimah Centre of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

Sheikh Mohamed received on Monday a delegation from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, IACP, at the Sea Palace in Abu Dhabi.

Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior was also present at the reception, where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Interior and the IACP, that will see the Association open a regional office in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohamed said that the UAE’s hosting of the regional office further strengthens its position as a hub for international organisations and their activities. He noted the importance of joint cooperation and in supporting international bodies in their work to promote human rights, security, development and stability.

Members of the delegation expressed their delight at meeting Sheikh Mohamed, praising the UAE police force for keeping pace with the latest modern policing technologies.
