Dubai Police come to the aid of diabetic girl’s mother

The Dubai Police General HQ, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, has provided a diabetic four-year-old girl with a qualified nurse to accompany her to school.

The girl’s mother had reached out to a morning live show on a local radio channel to complain that her daughter’s school did not have a nurse qualified to deal with students suffering from chronic diseases.

In her heart-breaking complaint mother said the school had informed her beforehand that they couldn’t provide consistent medical check-ups of her child’s blood sugar level. Therefore, her daughter couldn’t be accepted since they could not be responsible for either giving her insulin shots or keeping a contestant eye on her medical condition. The school then suggested that the mother or another relative accompany the girl to school every day, which was inconvenient to the working mother who went live and sought help.

In response, Dubai Police contacted Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, who in return immediately provided an accompanying nurse with all necessary equipment for the diabetic child. 

Brigadier Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman Al Malek, Director of Al Rashidiya police station, said that qualified nurses are needed at all kindergartens and schools to take care of people of determination and children with chronic conditions. 

Al Malek also added that Dubai Police, in line with their strategy and the directives of Dubai Police’s Commander-in-chief, have always sought excellence in serving community members and exceeding their expectations. 

Recently, two Dubai cops managed to recover a stolen car in less than an hour.

The Command and Control Centre at Dubai Police had received a report about a stolen Toyota in the jurisdiction area of Al Qusais Police Station when the vehicle owner had left the car engine running while dropping his son to school.

An All-Points Bulletin on the car was put out immediately, and within an hour, the stolen car was seized by the police station’s patrol.
