Sharjah Police detail fine discount mechanism

Lt. Col. Mohammed Abdullah Alai, Director of Traffic and Patrol Department of Sharjah Police, stated that the decision issued by the Sharjah Executive Council to reduce the value of accumulated traffic fines by 50 per cent, along with the removal of traffic points, has been officially implemented by competent authorities on Oct.22, 2019.

The discount will last for (3) months until Jan.31, 2020; the issued decision includes accumulated traffic fines made from Oct.21, 2019 and earlier, which will contribute in solving the problem of traffic fines accumulation on vehicles’ owners.

Lt. Col. Mohammed Alai, added that owners of vehicles will be able to pay for the made traffic fines through the smart services application of the Ministry of Interior “MOI,” and other application of Police Departments.

Moreover, traffic fines could also be paid through ‘Sahl’ devices available at shopping malls and various police stations, including ‘Traffic Services and Licensing Centre, Al Buhairah Comprehensive Police Station, Wasit Police Station, Al Gharb Police Station, Industrial Area Police Station, Al Dhaid Police Station at the Central Region, Kalba Police Station, Khorfakkan Police Station, Diba Al-Hisn Police Station at the Eastern Region, besides the devices available at the American University of Sharjah and the University City Police Station.’

The Director of Traffic and Patrols Department urged all drivers to benefit from the issued decision and settle their traffic fines, as well as abide by traffic rules and regulations to avoid such incidents in the future. On Tuesday Sharjah Police announced a 50 per cent discount on all traffic fines in the emirates. The police also said the all traffic points will be abolished.

Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, expressed his deep appreciation for the support of the Sharjah Police General Command from the wise leadership, and its response to all proposals that contribute to support its efforts to enhance security and safety, and encourage members of the community to abide by regulations and laws by easing their burden and enable them to settle their legal status and reduce irregularities. Major General Al Shamsi called on all members of the community and the owners of vehicles to benefit from this decision, and expedite the payment of their violations during the period specified therein, and settle their legal conditions, expressing his aspirations to be motivated to reduce traffic violations, and abide by regulations and laws that take care of their rights and ensure their security and safety.
