As many as 19 employees of Dubai Municipality who passed the Global Innovation Institute’s training programme have been awarded in a ceremony. The training programme, entitled Innovation Strategist, was organised as part of the Future Makers initiative, with the aim of raising the abilities and skills in understanding and strategically planning the innovation needs of the Municipality.
The programme highlighted the methodology to identify innovation requirements and develop an integrated strategy to promote innovation principles across the business in the Municipality.
Ahmed Obaid Al Falasi, CEO of Business Development Sector in Dubai Municipality, said that this programme was part of the development project of Knowledge and Innovation Department, which aims to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for innovation and knowledge in the Municipality, in line with its vision to build a happy and sustainable city, by strengthening the Municipality’s position as an innovative and pioneering Municipality globally, and as an embodiment of the directives of the wise government and the national strategy for advanced innovation, which aims to shift from the concept of innovation leadership to the concept of impact globally, and from focusing on sectors to focusing on humans.
Ahmed Saeed Al Badwawi, Director of Knowledge and Innovation Department at Dubai Municipality, added that the programme also aims to build and evaluate the Municipality’s innovation system in order to contribute to obtaining the Municipality’s innovative certificate by the Global Innovation Institute with the approval for a minimum of three innovative services from the same institute.
It is worth mentioning that Dubai Municipality has organised the programme within the framework of the implementation of the first focus of the Knowledge and Innovation Department development project, which aims to build an effective innovation system in the Municipality. During the next phase, ten employees will be selected from among those who were honored in the Innovation Strategist training program to continue the advanced level and enter the Innovation Strategy Professional training program.
