Community members of the Pakistani diaspora living in Dubai have attended a flag hoisting ceremony at the premises of Pakistan Association Dubai as part of the UAE National Flag Day. The ceremony was attended by a large number of community members, teachers and school children participated in the event.
Sohail Ashraf, General Secretary of PAD, wished on behalf of the Pakistan Association and Pakistani community that the UAE flag always remains up in the sky and congratulated the UAE brethren on the tremendous growth of UAE in every field of life that took the nation to its peak. He also thanked participants, students for joining. Haroon Rasheed, Director, Culture and Amjad Hussain, executive member and Dr Shahid Zaman, executive member were also present on the occasion.
Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Union Coop raised 32 national flags high above its 21 branches and Commercial Centres in the Emirate of Dubai, expressing their loyalty and belongingness to the homeland and the wise leadership.
Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop emphasised the importance of this day for the entire nation as he said, “We gather today to celebrate our flag day with proud of the achievements of our beloved nation under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.”
Scores of students at the Rashid Centre for People of Determination along with their teachers and training staff also took part in the ceremony to observe the raising of UAE National Flag in its premises on Sunday.
