Dubai Police fete Gulf Today journalist

Brigadier Khalid Ali Shuhail, Acting Director of the Dubai Police Department of Community Happiness, honoured the journalist Hamza Muhamad Sengendo of Gulf Today in recognition of his efforts and cooperation with Dubai Police in the field of journalism, community service and security information for eight years.
Brigadier Shuhail reiterated the keenness of Dubai Police to cooperate fully with all media for their major role in raising awareness of the public on security, traffic and community matters.
“We appreciate the role of journalists and media professionals and give them full support through their work with us,” he added.
In his name and on behalf of the Dubai Police, Brig. Shuhail thanked the Ugandan journalist Hamza M. Sengendo of Gulf Today for his efforts in highlighting the role of Dubai Police and conveying their messages to the community with credibility and professionalism. He also handed him a certificate of appreciation and a gift in kind for his sincere efforts.
For his part, Hamza thanked the Dubai Police for this honour and appreciation, expressing his delight at the experience he had in the journalistic cooperation with Dubai Police over the eight years.
Recently, the Dubai Police honoured a Filipina employee of Starbucks for her honesty as she returned a bag containing Dhs195,000 in cash.
A customer had forgotten his bag at Starbucks Café in The Dubai Mall, which apart from the cash also contained a chequebook, a bunch of private papers and documents and two signed cheques.
The first cheque was worth Dhs500,000, while the second was for Dhs6,250.
Colonel Rashid Mohammed Saleh Al Shehhi, Acting Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, honoured the Filipina worker, Mae Anne Olmidillo, 27, and praised her positive response, to emphasise the importance of the collaboration between the community and police.
