Dar Al Ber Society has organised a medical camp for workers, one of the work forums in its charity market on Rolla Street in Bur Dubai.
Through this medical camp more than 100 workers from different nationalities, trade and backgrounds benefited from the various medical examinations that were provided free.
Dar Al Ber confirmed the organisation of many free medical camps for workers in the UAE during the current year (2019), from which more than 2000 male and female workers benefited, who have undergone vital medical examinations. The Society plans to organise several medical forums in the coming months.
The free medical services provided by Dar Al Ber during the camp included a fully equipped medical bus provided by Aster Medical Centre, which carried out various tests for workers, including blood pressure, blood sugar and body mass index, in addition to providing medical advice from doctors to workers about any illness or complications that are discovered. Dar Al Ber Society presented gifts to the workers, which included items used in personal hygiene, cakes and sweets, and distributed among them free medicines, after issuing prescriptions from doctors, who examined the workers.
Dr Hisham Al-Zahrani, vice-president of the Social Service Sector in Dar Al Ber, said that the Society puts the assistance of workers as a priority, as a part of its commitment to its social responsibilities while they are far away from their home countries and families, and pushes the Society to launch several initiatives to help and support them.
The society has been engaged in a number of charitable initiatives with local partners like hospitals to provide various kinds of free services to different segments throughout the country.
Dar Al Ber recently launched a new humanitarian campaign to help the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh in cooperation with the competent authorities in both countries.
Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society, said that various types of charitable and humanitarian assistance would be provided to refugees, including health care, medicines, medical equipment and food.
