Children from all nationalities will take part in a series of art workshops planned by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre (HHC) in its dedicated pavilion in Global Village.
The purpose of the art workshops is to bring children together in an ambience of local culture and get them to do what they love most. To continue on this track of reinforcing national identity for the season 2019-2020, HHC has announced the organisation of seven art workshops dedicated to children at Heritage Village throughout its 6-month duration at Global Village. The first workshop will start today, Nov 16.
“The art workshops will be managed by Medaf Studio, experts in the field and with whom we have worked in the past few years. Having demonstrated great skills in dealing with children, and helping them indulge in an art activity, explore and innovate, HHC and Medaf Studio are highlighting a variety of new themes this season. Often the themes are related to heritage and Emirati culture”, said Hind Bin Demaithan Al Qemzi, Director of Events at HHC.
The first Art Workshops for Children titled ‘Tape Resist’ will commence on Saturday, Nov 16. The second workshop titled ‘Marker-dyed plush toy’ will be held on Monday, Dec 2. The third workshop titled ‘Paper Falcon’ will be held on Saturday, Dec 21. The fourth workshop titled ‘Palette Knife Painting’ will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020. The fifth workshop titled ‘3D Traditional House Painting’ will be held on Saturday, Feb 22, 2020. The sixth workshop titled ‘Painting with Yarn’ will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020. The seventh workshop titled ‘Watercolor Collage’ will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
All the workshops commence at 4:30 till 5:30pm at Heritage Village at Dubai’s Global Village. Recently, a Sharjah International Book Fair workshop , called ‘Dragon Masks’, saw children letting their imaginations run wild to create a unique mask using a vast array of materials. The workshop leader was at hand to give children top tips for customising their character.
