A court in Dibba Al Fujairah has cleared an Emirati woman who lost her seven kids in a villa fire from all charges.
The incident dates back to January 2018, where the mother was accused of negligence by leaving the children at home and locking them up in their room.
She was also accused of manslaughter. The defendant denied the charges.
She claimed being at home when the fire broke out.
Following the tragedy, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, instructed the UAE Civil Defence to install fire alarm systems in every home at the expense of the government for those who can’t afford it.
