Thumbay Hospital – Ajman, the leading academic hospital under Thumbay Group’s Healthcare Division, celebrated a significant milestone: the birth of over 60,000 babies at the hospital since its opening in 2002; a record number for the private healthcare sector.
A special ceremony to celebrate the occasion was held at the hospital on Nov.20.
Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Court, Ajman, was the chief guest of the function, presided by Dr Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group.
The occasion was held in the presence of Akbar Moideen Thumbay - Vice President of the Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group and Mohammad Abufara, Chief Operating Officer, Thumbay Hospital, Ajman.
The event was also attended by a few children who were delivered at the hospital during the 17 years.
Moreover, as a mark of celebration, Thumbay Hospital Ajman presented healthcare services voucher worth Dhs5,000 each to the first five children born at the hospital.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr Moideen said that the remarkable number of babies born at Thumbay Hospital, Ajman in such a short period of time was a reflection on the services provided by the hospital.
“It is an amazing feeling to reflect on the fact that in the span of 17 years, Thumbay Hospital, Ajman has helped bring over 60,000 babies into the world. We are proud of this achievement, yet humbled to think about all the families we have served. Back in 2002, when we opened this hospital, our first academic hospital, we developed a mission statement to which we havestrictly adhered all these years. Our focus has been to always put the best interest of the patients before everything else.”
The hospital’s expert team of gynaecologists and neonatologists have also successfully handled several high-risk pregnancy cases, complicated cases of premature deliveries, triplet births, etc.
Of the total number of babies delivered since 2002, approximately 58 per cent were girls and 42 per cent were boys.
Among the reasons for the hospital’s growing popularity is its world-class facilities, combined with some of the best doctors in the region.
The Thumbay Hospital network has established an integrated patient-centric healthcare model that takes into consideration the emotional and cultural needs of a patient in addition to their medical needs, all the while ensuring affordability.
“Over the years, Thumbay Hospital, Ajman has enjoyed the pleasure of celebrating with countless families as they welcomed new members.”
