Al Dhafra region witnessed rainfall on Monday afternoon in the areas of Zayed city-Mazaira, Ruwais, Baraka and Ghayathi, Sela’a, Hamra, Jebel Dhanna and Delma Island. This was due to that the country is being affected by a surface low-pressure system accompanied with low-pressure trough in the upper air with cold air mass moving eastwards, leading to an unstable weather conditions over north and east of the country, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The (NCM) appealed to the public to exercise caution while driving during rainfall and low horizontal visibility caused by dust stirring winds. It also advised to stay away from the places of surface run-offs and the areas flooded by rainwater. It also called on the public to not to venture into the sea, because its condition will not be stable as well.
The Centre also said that the weather on Tuesday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy in general. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 15–25, reaching 35km/hr at times. Sea will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
The temperatures on Tuesday are expected to be in the range of 18-28ºC in Abu Dhabi, 17-28 ºC in Dubai, 15-27 ºC in Sharjah, 17-28 ºC in Ajman, 16-27 ºC in Umm Al Quwain, 15-28 ºC in Ras Al Khaimah, 15-27 ºC in Fujairah and 15-28 ºC in Al Ain, according to the NCM.
On Wednesday and Thursday, weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy in general, NCM said. Relative humidity will increase by night and tomorrow morning westward. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 15–25, reaching 35km/hr at times. Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman, it added.
Meanwhile, the weather on Friday is expected to be partly cloudy in general and clouds will appear over the coasts and northern areas. Light to moderate southeasterly winds becoming northwesterly winds, freshening at times with the clouds, with a speed of 18–28, reaching 38km/hr at times. Sea will be moderate may become rough at times with clouds activity in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Sea of Oman, according to the NCM.
Various parts of the country witnessed on Sunday afternoon rainfall of different intensity, as a result of the state being affected by an extension of surface low pressure system, associated with a weak upper air trough.
The rainfall which began at 2:58 pm was moderate on the east of Shouka area, light on Wadi Al-Ajili in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and light on Wadi Al Helu in Sharjah.
