VIDEO: UAE expat pays surprise visit to ailing father after five years

Reunions are always beautiful, especially when it is unexpected and you haven’t seen those involved in for a long time. 

A Filipino IT professional took a 9-hour-long flight from Dubai to Philippines to surprise his parents whom he hasn't seen for the last five years.

The elderly parents of Ednicol Macalatan got surprise of their life when they met their son in a hospital.

Macalatan is working as a IT professional for the last five years.

Starting with his mother, Macalatan disguised himself by using a mask and a cap to cover his features. 

He reunited with his mother in the hospital’s cafeteria,  she was able to recognize him before he even took his disguise off.

It was an emotional moment for the mother.

Macalatan father is recuperating at the hospital after suffering a stroke.

His father was undergoing physiotherapy when he showed up disguised as a therapist, helping his father to walk.

Although he had a medical mask, thereby, his face not being visible, his father still recognised him.

The father broke down into tears because Macalatan had earlier confirmed that he would not be coming home.

Beginning from his departure from Dubai International Airport he video recorded every moment of his emotional reuinon with his parents at the hospital.

He later posted the video on You Tube.
