To the surprise of many, the Dubai Police shared an image of the newly unveiled Tesla Cybertruck pickup with its emblem on it.
The image went viral within minutes of the Tweet.
The image was originally shared by an online site mostaqbal.ae, which is also associated with Dubai Future Foundation.
Dubai police only said on Twitter, “Dubai Police launches Future Car 2020- Dubai Police CyberTruck…”
It won’t be a surprise if Dubai Police actually adds the Tesla Cybertruck in its fleets.
The police already have a fleet of luxury cars.
They recently announced the addition of the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S to its fleet of luxury patrol cars.
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said that Dubai Police Force has always sought, through the introduction of its supercars fleet, to enhance security presence in tourist destinations, such as the Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Jumeirah Beach Residence and La Mer, while upgrading the police's systems at the same time.
Tesla Inc shares rose 4% on Monday after Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk tweeted over the weekend that the company had already received 200,000 orders for its futuristic Cybertruck pickup.
The truck, made of stainless steel used in rockets and priced at $39,900 and above, failed to impress Wall Street last week after its "armored glass" windows shattered in a launch demonstration and analysts argued the design would not have mass appeal.
Tesla opened preorders immediately, however, and allowed potential buyers to book the truck by depositing a fully refundable $100, compared to the $1,000 Tesla charged for booking Model 3 sedans in 2016, drawing the flood of reservations and sending the company's shares back up on Monday.
