Sharjah Airport celebrates 48th National Day

The Civil Aviation Department in collaboration with Sharjah International Airport Authority organised a celebration on the occasion of the 48th National Day of the UAE.

The theme of the celebration centered on the country’s heritage. Dignitaries present include,  Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport Authority,  Sheikh Faisal Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Authority and Sheikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Director of Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, employees of both sides, as well as representatives of government and private entities operating at the airport.

The celebration was held in front of the airport administration building. It included folk activities and food exclusive to UAE. There was also a heritage village that had shops for popular products and henna engraving, as well as a children's corner.

“I am honoured on this occasion to extend our sincere congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and their brothers. Their Highnesses are members of the Supreme Council, the rulers of the UAE and the loyal people of the UAE,” an airport authority mentioned.

 Ali Salem Al Midfa said: “The celebration of the National Day brings to mind the anniversary of the founding of the Union when the will of the founding fathers united and the sincerity of their determination to establish a young state with a brilliant history. Every Emirati has the right to be proud of this special occasion and a reminder of our achievements. And the efforts made by the sons and daughters of the UAE to achieve the dream of unity and be able to withstand all challenges

Al Midfa added: “Through this national occasion, we express the spirit of belonging to the homeland and loyalty to its leadership, which spares no effort to delight its people and preserve its gains and abilities, and we all work in their respective places to contribute effectively to the uplift and development of our country. Our wise leadership, and to the people of the UAE as well as the residents of the UAE.

The employees at the ceremony expressed their happiness and pride with the great achievements of UAE over the last 48 years.  Where they renewed the era of loyalty and sincerity to the leadership of the country, which has dedicated all its efforts to build mankind and promote its position on the global map. That has helped in moving the country forefront in all domains.
