Emirates Airline’s A380 made history on Friday as it took off from Dubai Airport with 500 passengers onboard from over 150 nationalities underscoring its mission to bring the world together.
Emirates said, “Today we made history and created a Guinness World Record as we welcomed 145 nationalities on Emirates flight EK2019 in celebration of the 48th UAE National Day and Year of Tolerance.”
The historic EK 2019 one-off flight brought together the diverse, multi-cultural communities of the UAE.

The aircraft, one of its kind, was dressed in the striking ‘Year of Tolerance’ livery from its Engineering Centre.

The vibrant ‘Year of Tolerance' livery depicts a panorama of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures holding hands in solidarity, celebrating the UAE's message of multiculturalism. The colourful illustrations adorned both sides of the aircraft.

The aircraft will fly across Emirates’ A380 network of over 50 destinations for the next twelve months to spread messages of tolerance and mutual respect wherever it lands.

Some UAE citizens and residents spotted the EK 2019 ‘Year of Tolerance’ flight from off the coast of Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.
The aircraft landed back in DXB at approximately 1:00pm.
