The UAE has set a new world with the largest flag ever flown in a free fall in Dubai on Sunday.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared a video of the new record. Sheikh Hamdan said, “Another proud moment as our nation’s flag sets a new World Record for the largest flag flown in free fall measuring 144.28 m² ?? Happy National Day. #UAE” .
The video clip showed skydivers jumping off a plane with synchronization. The divers then set off the longest flag, creating a spectacular display over Palm Jumeriah.
Some divers are seen with jetpacks spiralling around the largest representation of the UAE flag.
On the other hand, Fujairah residents carried metres long UAE flag on boats to celebrate 48th National Day.
A video showed natives in boats at sea holding on to a huge flag to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, as soon as the video was uploaded by Sheikh Hamdan, social media burst into absolute joy.
Instagrammers and Twitteratis took turns to share their comments.
