The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted the weather on Friday would be partly cloudy to cloudy at times over the sea, islands and some east and northwards areas with a probability of rainfall. Humid during night and Saturday morning with a probability of mist or fog formation especially westwards, the NCM added.
“Winds will be light to moderate, northeasterly to southeasterly, freshening at times, causing blowing dust, with a speed of 16–26, reaching 40km/hr at times especially with the clouds. Sea will be slight to moderate, becomes rough with the clouds in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman,” it said.
The NCM continued, “The region is being affected by an extension of surface low pressure system, associated with an upper air trough. This may lead to low and medium clouds, with cumulus rainy clouds, to occasionally tower over scattered parts of the country, especially the north and east, accompanied by lightning and thunder with active winds.” Weather on Saturday is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy in general, with a probability of some convective clouds formation associated with rainfall especially over islands, northern and eastern areas, the NCM said. “Moderate Southeasterly to Easterly winds, freshening at times, causing blowing dust and sand with poor visibility at times, with a speed of 20–35, reaching 45km/hr at times. Sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea Oman Sea,” the NCM added.
It further indicated that the weather on Sunday would be cloudy in general, with convective and rainy clouds over scattered areas of the country. Moderate to fresh southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds, causing blowing dust and sand with poor visibility at times with a speed of 20–36, reaching 50km/hr especially with the clouds. Sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman, according to the NCM. On Monday and Tuesday, weather is expected to be cloudy in general, with rainfall over scattered areas of the country. Moderate to fresh southeasterly to northeasterly winds, causing blowing dust and sand with poor visibility at times with a speed of 20–35, reaching 50km/hr especially with the clouds. Sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
