VIDEO: Global Village opens ‘Ripley's Believe It or Not!’ museum

The world’s most amazing oddities have now gathered in one place. The Global Village brings you the world’s most remarkable collection of natural, scientific, artistic, and human oddities. Experience animal oddities, exotic primitive items—including authentic shrunken head and skulls—mind-boggling visual illusions, and an array of the most unusual stuff in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Collection as it officially opens the much awaited museum of oddities in the emirate.
Jim Pattison, Chairman and sole owner of the Jim Pattison Group, and Ripley Entertainment told Gulf Today, “I have never seen any place like the Global Village and I am happy to open Ripley's at the village.”
The Ripley’s museum-attraction consists of six galleries housing a unique collection of oddities: from micro-miniature sculptures invisible to the naked eye to the tallest man to ever live on the planet, as well as a fascinating collection of enormous dinosaur skeletons.
You can easily lose yourself in the “Mirror Maze.” Come face-to-face with your reflection, as you find your way out of a labyrinth of mirrors and LED lights. And if you are stuck for good? No worries. Search parties are send every half an hour to rescue those who cannot find the exit.
Last week, the Global Village broke records during the holidays, with the National Day, in particular, seeing the highest daily footfall of 140,000, shattering all previous attendance records and contributing to an overall tally of more than 650,000 guests during the six-day period.
