Jamaican born Toni-Ann Singh has been crowned the Miss World 2019 in London at the 69th edition of the global event on Saturday.
Reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de Leon from Mexico crowned Singh. An emotional Singh in tears, smiled as she poses with her crown during the Miss World Final 2019 at the Excel arena in east London.

In 2019, Singh competed in the Miss Jamaica World 2019 competition, which she won. Singh was selected to represent Jamaica at Miss World 2019.
Contestants congratulated Singh after she won the crown. Around 120 national representatives from around the world competed for the famous blue crown.
Singh was born in Morant Bay, but immigrated to the United States at age nine. She attended Florida State University, where she graduated with a degree in women's studies and psychology.

Her mother Jahrine Bailey-Singh is of African-Caribbean descent and hails from Jamaica, while her father, Bradshaw Singh, is of Indo-Caribbean descent from Jamaica.

Last week, Miss South Africa was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday in Atlanta after a lavish ceremony filled with glitter and heartfelt speeches about female empowerment.
Zozibini Tunzi, 26, finished first ahead of the Puerto Rican and Mexican finalists in a flashy televised event, hosted by American comic turned TV personality Steve Harvey.
Television personalities Vanessa Lachey and Olivia Culpo served as backstage commentators, and a panel of seven women determined the winner.
Tunzi earned cheers during her closing speech, a new segment of the competition, in which she talked about wanting to empower young women to feel confident.
