Four Africans attacked a 37-year-old compatriot woman, beat her and stole her bag with her passport, $1,200 and two ID cards in her name, one of which was issued by her country.
According to the investigations of the Dubai Public Prosecution, the suspects formed a gang and distributed roles among themselves.
The second suspect was tasked to monitor the street, while the rest of the suspects chased the victim, until she reached the building where she lived. Then the third suspect stood outside the building to monitor the street, while the first and fourth assaulted the victim on her face and separate parts of her body with their hands, causing her bruises. Then they took her handbag and fled.
In a seperate event, an African maid stole Dhs29,000 from her employer’s home on her first day at work and fled.
The victim, an Arab employee, 34, told Dubai Public Prosecution she asked her a colleague of the same nationality as the suspect, to help her find a maid.
The colleague brought the suspect who took over the work, and on the first day, the employer asked her to clean the bedroom and went out to buy some things from the market. When she reportedly returned, she discovered the maid was not there and that Dhs29,000 which was in her husband’s wallet was missing as well.
In another evevnt, three Asians, aged between 20 and 43 attacked an Arab visitor, 22. The suspects reportedly lured the victim to the workplace of one of them, where the first told her he would go to bring food, while the second and third stayed with her as the second attempted to rape her, but she resisted him.
The Dubai Public Prosecution investigated the incident and found the victim knew the first suspect via WhatsApp, and they agreed to have dinner together.
He picked up the victim from her residence and on the way he told her he had to go to his workplace. There she found the second and third suspects in the office. The first told her he would go to bring food, leaving her with the second suspect who attempted to rape her.
