Heavy to moderate rain lashed various areas of the country on Wednesday. The rain started at 8:53 am, as a result of the effect of a surface air depression in the upper atmosphere.
Ruwais in Abu Dhabi, Dhana in Fujairah and Khor Fakkan experienced light rain, while Ras Al Khaimah, Ghayathi and Al Mena experienced heavy to medium rain.
Heavy rains lashed Zayed City — Bu Hasa Road in Al Dhafra region.
The lowest temperature recorded over the country on Wednesday morning was 10.7 °C in Jais Mountain at 07:15am.
The National Meteorological Centre (NMC) expected the Thursday's weather to be partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy in some coastal and northern regions, with an opportunity for some rains and a decrease in temperatures.
According to the NMC, northwesterly moderate to energetic winds will blow, especially at the sea, stirring dust on open areas. Its speeds will range from 20 to 32 up to 45 kilometres/h.
The sea is expected to be medium to turbulent at times in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Friday's weather is expected to be partly cloudy with the possibility of some rain in some northern and western coastal areas
