The deceased were identified as Sharat Kumar and Rohit Krishnakumar.
They arrived in Dubai for reunion vacation and were on their way back from a night party when their car overturned and they were killed.
The General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police called on drivers to exercise extreme caution and abide by the speed limits on roads, particularly on road turns and in tunnels.
The department also called on road users to be careful of road surprises and concentrate in order to avoid such tragic accidents and the consequential human and financial losses.
A couple of weeks ago two people died and four others were seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles that took place in Dubai.
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police at that time had said that at nearly 5:30 am, a serious collision occurred between a pickup vehicle and a truck on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
Through the preliminary examination of the scene, it was found that the reason behind the accident was that a truck stopped in the second lane on the right side of the road because one of its tyres had exploded, Al Mazrouei explained.
"The hazard lights were not on to alert other motorists," he had said then.
As result, the pickup vehicle collided with the truck from the back, leading to death of two people on the spot, while four others sustained critical injuries. The injured persons were transferred instantly to hospital for the medical treatment, Al Mazrouei had said.
He further pointed out that as soon as the operations room was alerted about the accident, the competent teams from the Traffic Department had moved to the scene to examine it and probe the accident to know the reasons that led to it.
