The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that the weather on Thursday would be partly cloudy to cloudy by noon with a chance of rainfall at first westward spread gradually over scattered areas of the country. Moderate southeasterly winds in general, freshening at times with clouds, causing suspended dust and sand, may hit a speed of 20–30, reaching 45km/hr. Sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
It also indicated that the weather on Friday might see rainfall of different degrees of intensity in intervals over scattered areas of the country. There may be moderate to fresh southeasterly becoming northwesterly winds westward by night in general and strong at times, blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 35–45, reaching 60km/hr with clouds. Sea will be rough to very rough by night in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
Rainfall is also expected to continue on Saturday, especially over the northern, eastern areas and some coastal areas, cloud density could decrease gradually by evening, according to the NCM.
Fresh northwesterly winds in general, strong at times over the sea, blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 35–50, reaching 60km/hr, are likely. Sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Weather conditions would generally ease on Friday, the NCM said. It will be cloudy to partly cloudy over some areas with a chance of some rainfall. Fresh northwesterly winds in general; strong at times over the sea, blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 30–45, reaching 55km/hr, were probable. Sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and rough in the Sea of Oman.
The UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement Science, UAEREP, under the supervision of the National Centre of Meteorology, NCM, is set to organise the 4th International Rain Enhancement Forum, IREF, from 19th to 21st January, 2020, which will gather prominent national and international experts, researchers, scientists, and stakeholders to examine pressing sustainability issues.
