A 68-year-old GCC national got saved by Sharjah Police, after he got kicked out of his home by his children.
According to Col. Abdullah Al Naqbi, director of Wasit Police Station, the old man went to the station seeking help because he didn’t have anywhere to go. He told the officers that due to a dispute with one of his children, the latter abused him and kicked him out.

The police officers welcomed the man and summoned the son to the station. Alongside the police, social workers and family affairs specialists gave audience to both parties.
Col Al Naqbi said that following a discussion with the officers, the son expressed regret over his bad behaviour. "He said it was a result of some family dispute and distress he was going through. He lost his temper while having a dispute. He promised not to repeat it again and he and his brothers apologised to the father. It was a situation when the eyes of everyone, including the police officers, were filled with tears. The children took the father home happily," he added.
Col. Al Naqbi pointed out that the case will be followed up consistently to make sure the family issues get resolved.
He said the community police section opens the door for dialogue between family members having problems. It ensures disputes are resolved.
