Husband falls off water bike, dies

A 29-year-old Asian national was killed after the water bike he was on with his wife, 27, collided with another bike, on Al Mamzar Beach in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Operations Room of the General Command of Sharjah Police received a tip off on Friday evening, accordingly the National Ambulance was rushed to the scene to find that the victim fell from his bike in the water, unconscious, due to the severe collision with the other bike.

The dead body was taken to the hospital to complete the procedures for obtaining burial permits, while the police proceeded to investigate the circumstances of the accident to find out reasons.

The wife was hospitalised in the Kuwaiti hospital for treatment after sustaining moderate injuries.  

The Sharjah Police appealed to beachgoers and water bikers to adhere to the safety measures, to wear a life jacket, and the helmet, to avoid such tragic accidents, and to ensure the safety of their lives.

In a seperate event, The Dubai Criminal Court on Wednesday heard the case of a 32-year-old Arab charged with molesting his colleague.

The victim informed the management of the company where she was responsible for the store, and signing the electronic fingerprint device that, while she was on her way out of work, the suspect molested her, and that he did that several times during the past months.

The victim added she shouted at him and was about to hit him, but he left the place, noting that one of their colleagues witnessed the incident.

The suspect was investigated by the management of the company that informed the police.

Recently, the Dubai Public Prosecution referred an unemployed Asian, 34, to court for molesting an 8 year-old boy near a mosque in Dubai.

The arresting officer have testified that the victim’s uncle have caught the suspect and immediately contacted police to make the arrest, after he learned about the assault from his nephew.

Details of the incident reveal that the suspect had seen the little boy in Al Qusais Area, near Fatima Baqer Mosque, and lured him to help fix his bicycle, after which he groped the victim, brushed his lips against his cheek and bit it, then directly fled the scene.

However, the arresting officer added that the suspect was terrified at the time of the arrest, and was asking for forgiveness from the victim’s uncle.

The suspect testified that he was afraid that the boy’s uncle would physically assault him for his heinous act, but instead, the uncle called police and took a legal action.
