The National Meteorological Centre (NMC) expected the country would experience light to moderate rain as of Monday to Wednesday.
The NMC expected Sunday’s weather to be clear to fairly cloudy in general but generally cold at night.
Relative humidity, according to the NMC would rise at the end of Sunday and Monday morning.
Winds were expected to blow southeasterly to southwesterly to turn to northwesterly on Monday morning and be mild to moderate, at a speed ranging between 18 to 28 up to 38 kilometres/h.
The sea was expected to be light to medium in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Monday’s weather would be partially cloudy in general, especially on the north, on the sea and in some eastern regions with the possibility of some light rain.
On Monday also, relative humidity would increase at night and in the early morning on some interior and coastal areas hence fog was likely, according to the NMC.
Winds were expected to blow moderately southwesterly to northwesterly and be active on the sea westward, with speed ranging between 20 to 30 up to 45 kilometres/h.
The sea was expected to be medium to turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and be sometimes moderate to turbulent with clouds in the Sea of Oman.
The centre expected Tuesday’s weather to be partly cloudy, in general, and cloudy at times in the north and east, with the possibility of some light rain. Relative humidity was expected to increase at the end of Tuesday and on Wednesday morning in some central interior areas with chances of a light fog likely.
Winds on Tuesday were expected to blow moderate to active northwest to northeasterly, with speed ranging between 18 to 28 up to 38 kilometres/h. The sea would be turbulent to medium in the Arabian Gulf and medium to turbulent in the Sea of Oman at times, with clouds.
An earlier report said The National Meteorology Centre (NMC) warned of severe weather conditions last Tuesday and Wednesday, urging residents to be cautious and avoid mountainous areas. The NMC said that clouds would start gathering around Tuesday afternoon over parts of the country, bringing in rain and thunderstorm.
The weather body also said that hailstorms were expected in some areas.
Sharjah Police and municipality announced their readiness to deal with contingencies.
The temperatures could drop to freezing point in the northern emirates and mountainous regions.
Motorists should be careful while driving. The horizontal visibility was likely to get affected by strong winds and dust.
