His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, witnessed the signing of an agreement to develop gas resources in the newly discovered Jebel Ali gas field.
The new discovery is set to boost gas self-sufficiency in the UAE. The Jebel Ali gas field is located in the cross-border area between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The Jebel Ali Field will further Dubai’s ambition to become a smart and sustainable city, as it reinforces its position as a global economic hub.
The exploration and development is being carried out through a joint venture between ADNOC and Dubai Supply Authority.

Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State & ADNOC Group CEO said, “This strategic cooperation agreement with Dubai Supply Authority is a natural evolution of our shared commitment to harness energy resources in the service of the UAE, in line with wise directives of the leadership.”
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed, DG of Dubai Supply Authority said, “The agreement is an important step forward in further enhancing cooperation and tapping synergies to maximise the UAE’s resources, as part of our leadership’s vision for a new 50 year phase of development."
