The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) organised an evening to honour the contribution of the doctors, paramedical staff as well as volunteers who served as part of its ‘medical wing’ activities throughout the last one decade.
Ghulam Dastgir, Pakistan Ambassador to UAE was the chief guest and attended the evening to confer 140 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, paramedic healthcare workers and general volunteers with commemorative shields and certificates.
For over a decade, a number of doctors and other members of PAD had organised free medical camp once in a month in the premises of association to provide medicines and consultation to thousands of community members.
The volunteers including doctors, paramedical staff under the medical wing had also provided healthcare facilities free of cost to thousands of blue-collar workers in number of labour camps throughout the Emirate of Dubai.
Dastgir praised the selfless services of all the volunteers that have served the community during the last ten years and praised Medical Wing for their activities over a decade and upcoming Pakistan Medical Centre at the premises of Pakistan Association Dubai.
Dr Nighat Aftab, President Medical Wing highlighted the achievements of Medical Wing over the last 11 years and declared all volunteers as Champions for their hard work and dedication.
She also presented a video that narrated the evolution of Medical Wing from 2009 when very few doctors decided to do some welfare activity for community.
“Now with the upcoming Pakistan Medical Centre a dream has come true and this facility which is not for profit will serve the UAE community without any discrimination of colour, creed, religion and nationality,” she added.
Dr Zarqa Suharwardi Taimur ex-president of medical wing shared her experience during her days at Dubai and shed light on her Community projects.
The evening was followed by distribution of certificates and shields to all the volunteers.
