The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court adjourned to Monday (Feb.17), the case of an Asian charged with attempted murder of an Arab woman after he banged her against a wall several times.
The Public Prosecution charged the suspect with attempting to murder the victim by banging her against a wall, besides stealing her mobile phone and illegally residing in the country after the expiry of his residence visa.
In court, the suspect denied the attempted murder, stating that he had only slapped her on the face.
He denied stealing her phone, explaining that he gifted it to her and recovered it.
The suspect admitted that he overstayed in the country and the court adjourned the case to assign a lawyer to defend him.
