The Dubai Criminal Court on Sunday held the first session of a case in which an Asian cook, 28, was accused of possessing a quantity of marijuana for peddling to his friends.
Earlier, the Dubai Public Prosecution referred the case to the courts of law after the defendant had been interrogated on charges of possessing and abusing 8 grammes of marijuana.

A policeman working in Dubai Police’s General Department of Anti-narcotics, testified that according to a reliable tip-off, the defendant was abusing drugs and selling them to drug addicts.
A trap was set to arrest the defendant red-handed.
An undercover agent called the defendant and asked him for narcotics.
When the defendant came to the rendezvous, he was arrested and a quantity of narcotics inside a brown envelope was found in his backpack.
On interrogation, the defendant confessed that his friends used to give him money to buy narcotics and that he bought the drugs that were seized later to give it to them.
