Frequently, police have been warning motorists to be alert while driving, to be focused on the road and not to overspeed. However, many motorists do not pay heed to such caveats, with terrible results.
At times, the crash takes place due to sheer disregard for safety methods.
Two people died and four others were seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles that took place recently in Dubai.
Brig. Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police said that a serious collision occurred between a pickup vehicle and a truck on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road.
Through the preliminary examination of the scene, it was found that the reason behind the accident was that a truck stopped in the second lane on the right side of the road because one of its tyres had burst, Al Mazrouei explained. The hazard lights were not on to alert other motorists, he added.
As result, the pickup vehicle collided with the truck from the back, leading to death of two people on the spot, while four others sustained critical injuries. The injured persons were transferred instantly to hospital for the medical treatment, Al Mazrouei said.
