The Dubai Criminal Court on Sunday sentenced an Arab employee, 61, to 6 months in jail to be followed by deportation on charges of stealing 142 cheques from the school he was working for.
According to the official records, the school owner reported that during his work as head of public relations section in his school, the defendant stole 142 cheques from a school office.

An assistant clerk at the school testified that the defendant, who was his immediate director, came to him on the day of the incident and asked him to open a drawer beside him. He added that the defendant took an envelope containing cheques from the drawer and left the room.
A school accountant said that two days before the incident, he gave the envelope containing cheques to the witness and requested that he keep it with him. Later, the witness came to the accountant and told him that the defendant came to him and took the cheques before he left.
