Dubai nabs Brazilian visitor with 54 capsules of cocaine in stomach

A 50-year-old Brazilian visitor was detained and referred to the criminal court for smuggling 54 capsules of cocaine in his stomach, while being on a transit trip to an African country.
A Dubai Customs officer suspected the visitor, and ordered for a manual search of his luggage. The suspect was asked to pass through a body scanner, which revealed strange objects in his stomach.
Upon investigating him, the suspect confessed to carrying the cocaine capsules in his stomach, and was immediately taken to the hospital to get the capsules out of his system.
The suspect was detained, referred to the criminal court, and charged with drug trafficking.
