The Sharjah Criminal Court has adjourned the case of an Asian charged with assaulting a compatriot using an iron tool during a housing dispute between them. It caused the latter permanent disability.
The complainant, TJ, said he was hit by the defendant with an iron tool used for loosening screws in front of 10 people at their residence.
He has received medical treatment.
An Arab witness, MM, who lived with the two in the company’s labour camp, testified about the incident. He said that no sooner than he tried to break the fight that the defendant hit the complainant in the mouth with an iron tool that left his face bloodied.
The blood scared the defendant and he ran away with the others.
The defendant has denied the assault charge and the case has been adjourned to March 31 for a verdict.
