The marine squad of the General Directorate of Civil Defence of Ajman on Saturday rescued a young Arab and an Asian from drowning, while a third Asian died in the hospital.
The body of a fourth victim, an Arab, was found after three hours of search.
The incident took place on the Ajman Corniche on Friday afternoon, when a Civil Defence patrol of the Maritime Rescue received a report alerting that some persons had drowned after being swept away by undercurrents.
Instantly, the rescue teams started their search for the victims and rescued three, one of whom was an Asian who was in a coma and was handed over to the National Ambulance.
However, he died later in hospital.
As for the fourth person, an Arab national, his body went missing before the arrival of the marine rescue squad and after an extensive search for him it was found.
